【注記】4番3行目に「更行(ふけゆ)く夜半(よわ)をおとずれて」とあり、「おとずれて」は「音をさせて」の意味の古語だが、この日本語は「訪れる」(visitの意）と語源を同じくする。また「訪れる」には「〜の所の客となる、見舞う」の意味もあるので、ここでは意識的にvisitingを英訳に用いた。making sound inでは直截的過ぎる。
