Along the rocky beach of Shichiriga-hama
At the headland of Inamuraga-saki, a great commander
Flung his sword in the sea, offered to the sea god in an ancient battle

極楽寺坂（ごくらくじざか）越（こ）え行けば
長谷観音（はせかんのん）の堂（どう）近く
露座（ろざ）の大仏（だいぶつ）おわします

Going up the steep hill of Gokurakuji-zaka
Near the shrine dedicated to Hase Kannon
You see beneath the open sky the great statue of Buddha

由比（ゆい）の浜（はま）べを右に見て
雪の下村（したむら）過ぎ行けば
八幡宮（はちまんぐう）の御社（おんやしろ）

With the beach of Yuiga-hama on your right    
When you pass the village of Yukino-shita
There's the Hachiman Shrine, where the god of war is honored

上（のぼ）るや石のきざはしの
左に高き大銀杏（おおいちょう）
問（と）わばや遠き世々（よよ）の跡（あと）

Going up the stone steps of the holy shrine
You'll see the giant ginkgo tree on your left
If you're curious, I'll tell you its long and storied history

若宮堂（わかみやどう）の舞（まい）の袖（そで）
静（しず）のおだまき繰り返し
返せし人を偲（しの）びつつ

At the Wakamiya-do steps a graceful court dancer
Dancing, dancing for her dearest warrior
As she thinks of him who was forced to leave her

鎌倉宮（かまくらぐう）に詣（もう）でては
尽（つ）きせぬ親王（みこ）の御恨（みうら）みに
悲憤（ひふん）の涙わきぬべし

If you pay a visit to the Shrine of Kamakura-gu
You'll understand the endless tears of resentment of an imperial prince
And you'll surely shed tears of indignation with him

歴史（れきし）は長き七百年（しちひゃくねん）
興亡（こうぼう）すべて夢に似て
英雄墓（えいゆうはか）は苔（こけ）むしぬ

With seven hundred years of long history
The rise and fall of the clans seems just a dream gone by
Their graves as you can see are all thickly covered with moss

建長 円覚 古寺（けんちょう　えんがく　ふるでら）の
山門（さんもん）高き松風に
昔の音(おと)やこもるらん

At the old temples such as Kencho-ji and Enkaku-ji
You'll hear the muffled sound of the pines
Over the high gates

６番に歌われている護良（もりよし[または、もりなが］〉親王が幽閉されていた鎌倉宮に残る土牢；哀れを誘う旧跡
